The news of Rhode Island layoffs comes after CVS Health announced it would be laying off 5,000 workers across the United States. (Rachel Nunes/Patch) WOONSOCKET, RI — Hundreds of CVS Health employees will be laid off at the company's corporate offices in Woonsocket and Cumberland beginning Oct. 21, according to the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training. According to the worker adjustment and retraining notification (WARN) report, CVS Health told the department Friday 198 workers who live and work in Rhode Island would be laid off.
