The New York layoffs come amid mass corporate job reductions at CVS Health. Earlier this month, the company announced that it would lay off 5,000 corporate employees as it restructures its business. The cuts follow the company's decision to shut down its clinical trial arm in May, after executives said the research business no longer fit its long-term strategy. 'As part of an enterprise initiative to reprioritize our investments around care delivery and technology, we must take difficult steps to reduce expenses,' said Michael DeAngelis, a spokesman for CVS Health.
