WOONSOCKET – Woonsocket Police welcomed five new officers in an official swearing-in ceremony at Harris Hall on Friday and honored the department's latest retiree, K-9 Aspen. 'Today is an exciting day,' Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt said. 'It's also a day families may start to feel a little different about their family member joining the police force.' Baldelli-Hunt assured the family members gathered for the ceremony that the new officers will 'have the tools they need to do the job' and 'the support of the men and women of this department.
